theme: super / natural

super / natural is a nod to "supernatural," defined by google as "attributed to some force beyond scientific understanding or the laws of nature." by that definition, we are looking for submissions in the mystical realm - visionary and speculative fiction and illustration, sci-fi, fantasy, magical, witchy, spooky, or anything involving imagined futures/pasts/alternate dimensions.

but we are also seeking submissions of the SUPER natural - as in going back to our true roots and the heart of our existence. this anthology will be a critical look at our relationship with the earth, and visions of what it could look like, and possibly what it once looked like.

works that confront & challenge societal inequalities are encouraged.

the theme is inspired by adrienne maree brown & walidah imarisha who introduced me to visionary fiction through their collection Octavia's Brood, and taught me that all organizing is science fiction.

submissions closed on june 21st for visual art and july 21st for writing.
